David Rasko

Associate Professor
BioPark II, 801 W. Baltimore St., Suite 619
(410) 706-6774
Education:
Ph.D., University of Alberta (Medical Microbiology and Immunology)
Research Interests:

Rasko's research focuses on utilizing comparative genomics and transcriptomics of closely related isolates to examine pathogen evolution, with a focus on virulence and the mobile elements that contain them. Additional studies in his group include the identification of new virulence factors and signaling cascades in the hope of developing novel therapeutics, as well as examining the functional aspects of these novel features using modern molecular biology tools. His work utilizes pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Shigella and other Gram-negative pathogens.
